We met through a mutual friend at a carnival when we were only 16 years old!
Ronny proposed to me on a beautiful warm night in Fiji. He got down on one knee right next to the beach in an area that was lit up with fire.
I tried on all different styles of gowns to find out what shape suited my body. Once I found the perfect silhouette I went onto Instagram and other social media outlets looking for the perfect dress. I fell in love with a dress that was not available in Australia and that’s when I knew I had to get it made. After going to different dress makers I went to visit Bernadette. From day one she listened and understood what I wanted and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process.
I had about 8 fittings throughout the whole process and every single fitting was such a good experience. I always had a smile on my face and every time I went in I loved watching my dress and vision come together. During every fitting Bernadette would discuss with me what the next stage was and would ask me exactly what I wanted. For example when it came time for her to add beading to my lace she showed me all my options and went ahead with what I chose. While asking what I wanted she would also give me her professional opinion on whether my ideas would work or not. She went above and beyond to source a lace that was most similar to the one I fell in love with. Once she found this lace she sent me the images for approval before purchasing it to ensure it was what I wanted! The whole team was so welcoming to not only me but my whole family and I knew my appointments would have such a positive vibe. I enjoyed every single dress fitting I had with Bernadette & her team.
We decided on Park Hyatt Melbourne as it was a beautiful and classy venue that would be able to fit our 250 guests and our need for a large dance floor to carry out our traditional Greek and Assyrian dancing.
Our whole day had such beautiful memories but the best part would have had to be when I meet Ronny at the end of the aisle and he took my hand before the ceremony commenced.
I would say enjoy every experience you have when preparing for you wedding. It gets stressful at times and not everything will go 100% right. Just embrace everything positive, even when things go wrong. Organize everything as early as possible as the time goes so quickly and vendors do book out very much in advance. And lastly, on the day make sure you take a moment to take it all in..the day goes by very quickly and it can almost feel like a blur. Enjoy it because this your’s and your husband’s day.
